Fruit Salsa & Caribbean brulee tortilla chips

About the Recipe

A delicious recipe that is sure to please even the pickiest eaters in your family. The salsa can be made as far as 24 hours in advance and stored in the fridge until it's time to serve!
Salsa is a popular dish, making it a fruit salsa makes this dish even more enticing.

Tip: Adapt the recipe seasonally to include produce that is in season.

Ingredients

For the Salsa

  • 1 cup finely chopped fresh strawberries

  • 1 cup blueberries

  • 2 apples, finely chopped

  • 2 kiwifruit, peeled and finely chopped

  • 1 guava, finely chopped

  • 1 tbsp strawberry jam

  • 1-1.5 tsp sugar

For the Tortilla Chips

  • 10 flour tortillas (8")

  • 1/4 cup butter, melted

  • 1/3 cup sugar

  • 1 tsp Caribbean Brulee

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350° F

Step 2

In a medium mixing bowl, combine the ingredients for the salsa. Cover and refrigerate until serving.

Step 3

For chips, brush the tortillas with melted butter and cut each into wedges. In a small mixing bowl, combine the sugar and Caribbean Brulee and sprinkle over the tortilla wedges. Place the wedges on an ungreased baking sheet in a single layer.

Step 4
Bake at 350° for 5-10 minutes, until crisp and golden brown.

Step 5
Serve warm with the chilled salsa.
