A simple recipe packed with flavour! Summer is too short in Ontario, Canada, this BBQ chicken featuring our premium spice blend "Good Gyal Ginger" is a quick fix for the winter blues.

This recipe is packed with flavour and a sure crowd pleaser served alongside Crispy Garlic Thyme Potatoes!

Ingredients

  • Aluminum foil

  • 4 pound(s) chicken, jointed

  • ¼ cup of Vinegar (use this in the soaking water to clean the chicken)

  • Salt & Pepper

  • 1 onion chopped

  • 3 clove(s) garlic, minced

  • ½ of a Habanero pepper minced

  • 1 teaspoon thyme leaves or 5-6 thyme sprigs

  • 2 tablespoon(s) oil or butter

  • 2 tablespoon(s) soy sauce

  • 2 tablespoon Good Gyal Ginger

  • Your favourite Barbecue sauce

  • Your favourite Ketchup

Preparation

Step 1
First clean your chicken with vinegar & water, then peel off the skin. Note:If you like your chicken extra crispy you can leave the skin on.

Step 2

Chop onions, garlic & habanero peppers & mix them in with the chicken, add thyme leaves.

Step 3

Add in oil, soy, salt, pepper & Good Gyal Ginger seasoning then mix with your hands.

Step 4

Cover and place in the refrigerator to marinate for about 1-2 hours; up to 24 hours.

Step 5

Arrange chicken on a baking tray, cover the tray oil, & place it in a preheated 400°F oven for 25-30 minutes.

Step 6

Uncover the chicken and pour out the excess water/drippings at the bottom of the tray into a bowl.

Step 7

Combine drippings, ketchup, and barbeque sauce (the consistency should be thick).

Step 8

Baste the chicken with the mixture using a barbeque brush.

Step 9

Put the chicken back in the oven uncovered for another 10-15 minutes. Flip the chicken, repeat step 8 and place back in the oven for another 10-15 minutes.
