About the Recipe
A simple recipe that can be made in so many different ways by just switching up the toppings. Avocado toast can be served as a light meal, snack or breakfast.
Ingredients
2 slices rye bread
1 medium-ripe avocado
1 teaspoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
Extra virgin olive oil
Fleur de sel, to taste
Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Red pepper flakes (optional)
Sesame seeds (optional)
Preparation
Step 1
Toast 2 slices of rye toast.
Step 2
Cut avocado in half, deseed and peel the skin using a spoon.
Step 3
In a small bowl combine lemon juice and avocado, and gently mash with the back of a fork.
Step 4
Top toasted bread with mashed avocado mixture. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle atop desired toppings.
